A Year at Walt Disney World – Week 6 – Recap

A Year at Walt Disney World – Week 6 – Recap

This week was a much shorter week for us. We had our first travel day with the RV, so that took up a day and the night before. It went smoothing this time, as the first time we were supposed to move, it didn’t go so smoothly. I will be doing a post all about that soon.

Anyway, we usually go to the Disney parks about 5 times per week, but this week we only made it three times. Along with our travel day, we had a family commitment on Saturday, which is usually one of our main days for Disney. Here’s how the week went.

Walt Disney World Day 23 -Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios

The entire reason we went to Hollywood Studios on this, our 23rd day of our year at Disney was for a Fastpass+. We scored one for Slinky Dog Dash, which is one of my wife’s favorite rides and I enjoy it, too. Along with the ride, we caught two shows we have never seen before; Indiana Jones and Frozen.

Slinky Dog Dash

It’s nice to skip the lines and this will hopefully be the last time we are speed walking to make it to a Fastpass. Since we have done just about everything Disney has to offer at least once, we shouldn’t be putting ourselves in these situations anymore.

Anyway, we got on the ride and I was able to film it all from the very front seat. That video, along with other videos will be up on my YouTube channel soon. I have no plans on making my videos super professional, but I do plan to show off some of the rides from a POV perspective and a few other things during our journey.

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular

I was surprised at how cool this show was all the way from the funny process of choosing the extras to the stunts. I’ve heard it used to be better, but I never saw it before this time, so I will say, it was pretty darn cool!

For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration

We skipped the For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration a few times thinking it was mainly for kids, but it’s hilarious. This is a show for everybody and one of my new favorites for sure.

Walt Disney World Day 24 – Epcot

Walt Disney World Epcot

Monument Epcot Disney Mickey Mouse Sculpture

We had plans to go to the Magic Kingdom, but we were running late and changed our plans last minute. We decided on Epcot because we scored a few quick Fastpass options and liked the idea of a shorter visit. This visit was also after packing up the RV, moving the RV and setting it up in the heat. We didn’t move far, but it’s still quite a bit of work, so a shorter Disney night without as much walking as the Magic Kingdom requires was in order.

I say that now and yet my wife couldn’t make a dinner decision, so we ended up walking the entire country area of Epcot, lol.

We rode The Land first, which we rode back in March during our first visit to Epcot. We also rode Soarin’ for about the 10th time and we ended up getting a Fastpass for any attraction because Spaceship Earth was having issues. We chose to use it for Test Track, which is still super cool and the very best ride at Epcot, in my opinion.

Walt Disney World Day 25 – Epcot

Epcot

Another day at Epcot because this one was already planned. My wife had this planned for a while as it was our night to check out France. Originally, we had a fastpass+ for Test Track booked, but since we did it the night before, we canceled it to get another hour in France.

We did start off by seeing the Short Film Festival, which was awesome! Then, we spent the majority of our evening checking out France, including the video, all the stores and having a snack with a glass of wine each.

On the way out, we rode Mission Space for the first time and did the not so intense version. My wife likes to ease into the more intense rides and had heard some bad things about this one. We both loved it and will be doing the more intense version in the near future.

That was our week at Disney World. I am keeping this recap short and plan to do the same in the future as I start to release more in-depth reviews of each ride. Since we have been on just about everything, I don’t see the point in continuing to tell you how the ride was each time, as it’s always going to be fun, unless there’s a rare issue.

Recapping the Week

Even with it being a shorter week, we still did a few new things for us. It was fun and I think we are both ready to get back to our normal Disney schedule this week.
