WordPress Hosting Sites

The very first step you must take when you want to start a blog has to do with hosting. You must choose one of the hundreds of WordPress hosting sites, and this can become very overwhelming for beginning bloggers.

I am here to make choosing WordPress hosting super easy for you!

I spent the first five years of my freelance writing career covering the hosting industry, and I still do some writing for a few large hosting companies today. Don’t let this post or any other post about WordPress hosting sites or plans confuse you.

It’s really pretty simple.

Choose any plan from the five WordPress hosting sites I am about to introduce you to, and you’ll be set up for blogging success.

SiteGround (My Favorite WordPress Hosting Site for Beginning Bloggers)

SiteGround WordPress Hosting Site

Out of all five of the WordPress hosting sites I am going to introduce you to, SiteGround is my favorite. They provide the most value for your money.

I use SiteGround hosting for many of my blogs and have found it to be faster than other hosting options, easier to use than other hosting companies, and better at supporting customers than most hosting companies.

The hosting industry is filled with hundreds of WordPress hosting plans and sites to choose from. It’s rather overwhelming, and it’s hard to figure out which is best.

SiteGround makes it to the top of my list for the following reasons:

  • Incredible value for the money
  • Great for Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Very Beginner-Friendly
  • Easy to Upgrade, if Necessary
  • Tons of WordPress Features
  • Optional Premium WordPress Features

As you read on and look at the next four hosting companies I recommend for blogging beginners, you will see why SiteGround is at the top of my list.

What SiteGround Offers for Blogging Beginners

As a beginner, you’ll likely start with just one blog. If you only need hosting for one blog,  you’ll be starting with the StartUp Package from SiteGround. This package includes:

  • One Website
  • 10 GB of Web Space (This is plenty)
  • Up to 10K Visitors per Month (Also Plenty)
  • Essential WordPress Features

You can lock in the StartUp Plan for just $3.95 per month. The regular price is $11.95 per month, so you will want to lock in the special deal for as long as you possibly can.

When you surpass the traffic of the Startup Package, or you need hosting for more than one blog, you can upgrade to the GrowBig hosting package. This is the package I currently use, and it provides even more WordPress features, along with plenty of other benefits.

Kinsta (The Best Premium WordPress Hosting Site)

Kinsta Premium WordPress Hosting

I don’t put Kinsta WordPress Hosting as my top choice for blogging beginners because of the cost. It surpasses every hosting company on this list when it comes to actual WordPress hosting plans, however.

Most beginners want to start off without investing too much cash, and Kinsta starts with a $30 price tag for their smallest hosting package. However, if you pay for a year upfront, they do offer two months free, which makes it a better deal.

The good thing about Kinsta for beginners is the monthly option. You can pay one month at a time, which makes it a bit easier for beginners not looking to commit to a full year or more of hosting.

Kinsta offers premium WordPress hosting plans with several levels. They give you a free SSL & CDN with every account, which can make a huge difference for SEO.

They also offer free migrations, daily backups, some of the best WordPress support online, and much more. With the Starter package you will get:

  • One WordPress Installation
  • Up to 20,000 monthly visitors
  • 5 GB SSD Storage
  • And More!

They pack each WordPress hosting plan with plenty of features and space to allow blogging beginners to grow. When it comes to speed, uptime, and support, Kinsta certainly blows all other WordPress hosting sites out of the water.

They also offer a pro plan, which basically doubles your hosting package. Once you grow past the pro plan, they offer several other levels to allow you to grow as big as necessary with your blog and your traffic.

If you want to truly invest in your blog, I recommend getting Kinsta hosting.

iPage (The Most Affordable for Blogging Beginners)

WordPress Hosting Plans from IPage

I featured iPage Hosting in my blog post, How to Start a Successful Blog for $3.75 to $1,000, because of the super low cost to get started. If you don’t have much cash to get started with blogging, iPage is the right WordPress hosting site for you.

They offer super cheap hosting and a free domain name, so you can literally get started blogging for $3.75.

The WP Starter package will give you everything you need, including:

  • A free domain name for a year
  • Unlimited storage
  • Unlimited bandwidth
  • Pre-installed themes & Plugins
  • Customized Control Panel
  • And More!

However, if you want the WordPress expert support, automatic malware removal, and SiteLock professional security, you will need to upgrade to the WP Essential Package, which is $6.95 per month.

What I really like about iPage for beginner bloggers is the low cost to get started and the low regular price. The WP Starter plan is just $7.49 per month regularly, and the WP Essential package is just $10.49 per month regularly.

While the price is great, you should know iPage isn’t as fast as SiteGround or Kinsta. I used to use iPage for a couple of my clients, and I ended up moving one to Kinsta and another to SiteGround because the speed was becoming an issue for SEO.

If you’re a beginner and you want to start for super cheap, iPage is still better than about 98% of hosting companies out there when it comes to performance. They offer plenty of value and the low cost to get started, along with a free domain name make iPage a solid option.

HostMonster

Blogging Beginner HostMonster Hosting

Another decent WordPress hosting site, HostMonster offers a straight-forward choice for your blog. I have used this hosting company in the past, and they provide very good support and decent performance.

The price comes in at $4.95 per month, which means they are a bit more expensive than some of the other options on the list. However, they do offer a free domain name, which you don’t always get and they do offer good support.

HostMonster is a bit of an honorable mention for me when it comes to WordPress hosting plans. They are good, and the product is solid, but they just aren’t as good as other choices on my list or as affordable.

HostPapa

HostPapa WordPress Hosting

One of the things I like about HostPapa is the low cost they sell domains for, and they have good hosting, too. They do carry WordPress hosting, and it’s well optimized for the beginner.

This beginner-friendly hosting company offers hassle-free WordPress hosting plans with good speed and performance. They also offer expert WordPress support, which is one of the reasons they are on my list of the top five WordPress hosting sites for blogging beginners.

HostPapa pricing mimics SiteGround Pricing for two of the three packages. You can start with the WP Starter pack, which is just $3.95 per month with the discount I provide and $8.99 per month regularly.

The WP Starter package will give you the ability to host two sites, and you do get a free domain name. HostPapa gives you a ton of SSD storage at 100GB and unmetered bandwidth. They also provide Jetpack, a good WordPress plugin for free and all the essential WP Features.

You can upgrade to the WP Business Package for $5.95 per month with my discount or for $13.99 regularly. This package will allow you to host as many websites as you need and provides Advanced WP features.

Overall, HostPapa is a good choice for blogging beginners. They are super beginner-friendly, and the pricing is right. The only reason they are lower on my list is the speed isn’t quite as good as SiteGround and cannot come close to Kinsta.
